Top Three Green Living Tips

I'm not the Green Expert by any means, but like you I am trying to "Go Green".
My top three Green Living tips are pretty easy ones.

Tip#1: Turn Off and Unplug:
When you're not in a room there's no need to keep the lights on or electronic devices plugged in. By flipping the switch to off, you will save some money. Also you will be reducing your family's exposure to electromagnetic radiation, and you will be saving energy and carbon dioxide emissions. You can start tonight!!!
(Also, some appliance left plugged in are a fire danger-know fact!)

Tip#2:Change your light bulbs
Switch out the light bulbs in your house to energy-efficient, inexpensive compact fluorescent bulbs. This will save you money on your electric bill. If every household in America exchanged five light bulbs, the energy savings would be equivalent to taking 8 million cars off the road.

Tip#3: Reuse and Recycle
Cutting down on waste can save 4.4 pounds of garbage a day, that's 1,600 pounds a year. Buy reuseable stainless bottles and use and wash your dishes to stop the waste of paper/plastic products. Plastic water bottles take an estimated 1,000 years to break down in nature. Also, I like to use the reusable shopping bags to reduce the plastic ones. Recycle your papers, glass, plastic and cans. In my home town, we have recycling laws in place.(But people don't always abid by them) Also, we have deposit and returnable soda, beer cans and water bottles. Some states haven't gotten to this law yet.

We all can start by taking small steps. For more Green Living tips please visit Beth Aldrich "The Green Mom" to help make the world a greener place. Also check out how to turn your eyes green with Airwear lenses.
