Chicken Soup for the Soul: Teacher Tales

101 Inspirational Stories from Great Teachers and Appreciative Students
By:Jack Canfield,Mark Victor Hansen & Amy Newmark
Foreword by Anthony J. Mullen-2009 Teacher of the Year

This is a great gift for new and experienced teachers, providing them a morale boost and the knowledge they are appreciated. The teaching industry has embraced this book, and more than half the stories are from "celebrity" teachers, including all of the 2009 State Teachers of the Year and the 2009 National Teacher of the Year. There is a lot of buzz about this book in the teaching industry and those teachers who don't receive it as a gift are sure to buy it for themselves, to read these 101 true stories by great teachers and appreciative students, with lots of laughs, poignant moments, and some tears too.

My Thoughts:
This is a Great Book!!! I love this book as much as all of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books I have read so far. Mostly what I love about the Chicken Soup Books are that you can sit down and read the whole book or if time doesn't allow it, you can read just a few pages at a time. This book includes inspirational stories that will make you laugh and cry. This book contains many stories about new and experienced teachers and they share many of their ups and downs about being a teacher. This book is about the heart and soul of teaching and why teachers commit their lives to helping children. Teachers are truely special people and deserve to be awarded. There were so many stories in this book that really touched me. I laughed at some of the embarrasing stories told in here and I had tears reading how some students touched the lives of teachers and how the teachers helped their students. This is a great read for all parents and this book makes a great gift for any teacher.

You can purchase this through amazon.com

I follow via Google Friend.

Growing up, there was one special teacher who really inspired me. She ended up teaching me throughout three different years, and I am so grateful I got to enjoy her classes. She pushed her students to do their best, and be the best that they could be. I truly miss her!

Thanks for this chance!

Last year my daughter's teacher was a blessing. I was diagnosed with cancer and she really took my daughter under her wing to make sure that things stayed as normal as possible for her.

I had a wonderful high school social studies teacher who made learning fun but made sure we learned what we needed to.

The teacher that sticks in my mind was a high school teacher who supervised alot of the extra-curriculars. She knew how to balance being a teacher and a friend perfectly.

I'm following you (Bacallsmom).

I provide adminstrative support for special education teachers who provide in-home instruction for children who are too ill to attend school. Most of these teachers are employed full time as classroom teachers, but they put in many hours beyond that teaching these homebound children. They get the same pay as in the classroom for working under all sorts of conditions, and their travel pay doesn't begin to compensate their travel costs. Obviously, I admire them a lot.

I would have to say my son't 1st grade teacher is special. 1st grade can be hard for a child but she made sure that it went smoothly for my son and all the children. She basically started my son out on the right foot from the beginning, making it easier to move on.

My kindergarten teacher was very special. Even though it is almost 40 years later I think of her every Groundhog's Day because her birthday was on February 2.
