When runners aren't running, they are talking about running, planning their next run, shopping for running. This book contains 101 stories from runners, telling their stories to other runners about. running — how it has changed their lives, their bodies, and their spirits. Runners will love these inspirational stories of fellow runners challenging themselves, recovering from injuries, and staying motivated. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Runners also includes amazing stories of marathons, camaraderie, and the natural high that comes from this popular sport. It holds plenty of stories for triathletes too, covering swimming and cycling.

A wide collection of authors, from elite Olympians to casual joggers, will inspire you to be the very best you can be, whether you run great distances, modest distance or are just starting out. ~Dean Karnazes, Ultramarathoner
Dean says Chicken Soup for the Soul helped him reinvigorate his passion for running...and life!

This is another great Chicken Soup for the Soul Book. Like all the other Chicken Soup for the Soul books I have read, this book has inspirational stories from famous runners. I love how you can read the whole book or if time doesn't allow-you can read just a few pages at a time. In this book, you will read many great stories about how these runners got started, everyday adventures, a step at a time, comebacks and fortitude. You will read stories from runners at every level, from beginners to stars, about staying motivated, running with family and friends and even running in exotic locations. This book may even have you thinking about going for a walk or maybe even a run.

I have been walking for my health for the last 12 years. Everyday instead of lunch I walk 2-3 miles. It is quite relaxing to get away from work & see the beauty of the natural world.

Walking is great exercise. It is less stressful on your knees than running, but stil can give you a good workout. It allows you to get back to nature.

Apart from the fitness running is also enjoyable for releasing the stress after a hard day at work.

Running is a great natural "high". It's wonderful being out there pounding the trail with your heart and muscles all working in concert and your mind free to wander. It's like a moving meditation.

I used to run...then I had two babies back to back, so I'm just trying to get back to it! I love what it did to my body and that I could eat a lot more! Thanks!

My sister is doing a half-marathon in December as a fund-raiser for the disease that almost killed her. I like the fact that something like running can bring a positive aspect to that part of her life.
