Safety First!!

As a parent, Safety always come First!  I love for my kids to have fun but Safety is always in the back of my mind.
I don't let them ride their bikes, without wearing a helmet.  My daughter used to think I was being over protective of her, but now it's the Law.  She appreciates my concern, after taking quite a spill on her bike too though.
As she is getting older and I'm not looking forward to this, she will be learning to drive.  I am going to voice my concerns and teach her all I can to keep her safe on the roads.  One way, I can do that is to teach her what the street signs are and what they mean now while she is riding in the car with me.  Then when she is old enough to get her drivers permit, she will already know what the road signs are.  Knowledge is power, so why not start teaching our kids these little things now.

My kids love the outdoors.  They love to go with my husband and look for animal tracks and if they are lucky enough, see the deer.  Many times, they watch the deer, squirrels and  rabbits.  My husband has taught the kids that it is important to stay on our property though.  My son has learned to look for the no trespassing signs while he's out in the woods.   My husband is teaching him about the laws and safety of hunting along with teaching him to respect our neighbor's property.

I know that I can't always be with my children, but if I can teach them, that they should think about what could happen, then they will be smart and use their heads first and then hopefully they will stay alittle bit safer.

Mamavation Monday

It feels great to be getting back in the swing of things!!

I finished Week #2 of the #2WeekChallenge.  I did really good.   I have Lost a total of 5  pounds!   The Work outs were challenging and I can feel them working.   I have been eating better and I still have cut out the Soda.  (No reason to start drinking it either.)

So, this week, I am going to continue eating better, drinking more water and getting in my workouts.  I like the idea of doing Cardio on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and doing Strength training on Tuesday and Thursday.  Then doing something different on Saturday and taking  Sunday's off.

That said, today I did the Hula Hoop and Step Aerobics on the Wii Fit and I did a Good workout using the Zumba wii game.  So, I just need to continue doing good the rest of the week.

Mamavation Monday

It feels great to be getting back in the swing of things!! Well... Not really feels great as I am Sore! Boy am I out of shape and that's a shame.

But, I finished Week #1 of the #2WeekChallenge. I did really good too. I have Lost 3 pounds! The Work outs were challenging and made my body is SORE!! I have been eating better and I cut out the Soda. Cutting out the Soda was really hard for me because I lived on Diet Pepsi/Coke. I probably drank at least a 6 pack per day and sometimes I didn't eat or I ate whatever and whenever I wanted. ( Well, I noticed that it caught up to me and I gained back some weight- that's why I'm here.)

My Goal is for a Healthy Me!!! I want to eat healthy, lose weight and Tone up. I am on a good path. My husband started this with me and he should have lost weight but he didn't exercise much and cheated on his food. He cut back and started eating healthy but then he had a few blueberry turnovers, cheeseburger and fries, and whatever eles he didn't tell me he had. I on the otherhand, ate pretty healthy. I will tell you that I know if I give up certain foods that I will not make it and crave it. So, I have to tell you that the Weight Watchers Ice Cream Bars are really good!! They help me get my chocolate fix without alot of calories.

So... This week I'm off to a good start!!! I did my Monday Workout but those planks are a killer. ( My abs will be rewarded in the end though) But I am going to see that my effort pays off!

Mamavation Monday

Happy New Year!!!
It's time to make a New Years Resolution!!
(Ok.. I'm alittle late! Since Today is already the 9th of January.)
As most people want to include losing weight as their resolution... Mine is going to include a Healthy Me! A Healthy Family.

I am going to get back into my good habits by eating healthy and exercising. And my Husband is on game this time. He's been wanting to lose weight and wants to have a competition with me. (But- we are not on a fair playing field, since it's easier for men to lose weight than for women and I am not as overweight as he is.)

So, that said... I am starting the Mamavation Two Week Challenge. This is going to be challenging for me! I'm thinking the hardest part is giving up the Soda and I know that I will be sore but it is going to be a good start for me.

I took my measurements and weight this morning. I will tell you that I have gained back some weight that I lost about 2 years ago but I know that's because I eased back on my exercising and started eating junk again. I could tell by the way my clothes were fitting or I should say were not fitting. At my size, I can really notice those 10 to 15 pounds. I am determined again to lose this weight and tone up so that I look and feel better about myself.

I am going to see these results this year!! I love all the support that Mamavation gives to all of us, no matter if our weight lose goal is to lose 100 pounds or 10 pounds.

Bad Contractor

Unfortunately we hired the most worthless contractor to do renovations on our home in Glendale. He put on a good show at first and made us think he was really responsible and talented. After the contract was signed and money was paid we realized we made a bad mistake. He started showing up late every morning and things started to fall behind schedule almost immediately. We thought the project would take one month and it ended up taking three. The one good contribution he made was to recommend Glendale ADT Security for our home security needs. Otherwise I could have done without his work. I probably wouldn’t have been so dissatisfied with the schedule problems if I thought his work was up to par. I think for what we paid him we probably could have gotten a better quality job done. I’m not sure how long the work will hold up but I’m hoping for the best. Next time we need work done on our home we’re going to be way more careful than we were this time around.

Happy New Year ?

Well... Not Really?

The end of 2011 and the start of 2012 really wasn't the best for me!!!

My Grandmother passed away on New Year's morning. At the age of 87, She lived a Good life and was ready to go meet her Savior.

( But... I'm really going to Miss her.)

This picture was taken a few years ago... It shows the 4 Generations- My Grandmother, Mother and my 2 Sisters and I along with my Daughter and Niece. ( I only wish we had of taken a new one that included my other niece Lauren that was born last year.)
