Mamavation Monday

The Weather is getting nicer here. So, this is getting me more motivated to get looking great before summer. I put on a pair of my capris,i wore last spring/summer and they were alittle tighter fitting, so this has made me realize, I need to get my rear in gear.
I weighed in this morning and I did lose 2 pounds. I'm not getting excited about this because this is weight that I've gained back. But, I'm getting closer to my goal- I have 12.8 pounds to go. But- these are those stubborn pounds.
(And I really got to work hard to get these off!!) I know what I need to do, but it is much easier said then done. I am going to work on making this goal though and I will feel much better when I tone up a bit too.

This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Popping Corn .

This weeks Question is: How would you like to alter your family’s nutrition and eating habits? Do you have a plan to do this?

My Answer is: I have a rough idea and I'm working on a plan for this. I'm trying to have myself and my family to eat healthier. I have cut out buying junk food and I've been buying healthier snacks. I am trying to get us all to eat more fruits and veggies. I'm trying to have us all each smaller portions and eat more often. I am especially trying to get my children in the routine of eating breakfast. (For some reason- both my children have been skipping breakfast before heading off to school.)
I have been getting my son to at least have a nutritional drink for breakfast, I've been giving him those Instant breakfast drinks that are loaded with vitamins and important nutrients.

My big thing is that I need to keep myself eating little meals and snacks to get my metabolism going. And of course, I'm going to need to get more workouts in.

I wrote this blog post while participating in the Mamavation Blogging Carnival for a chance to win an Orville Redenbacher’s Very Important Blogger Gift Basket.

Have you tried encouraging your kids to make smoothies? Milk (or soy or almond milk) with a handful of frozen fruit? My kids love them!

Keep working at it Shawn - the strength, endurance and balance your building now will definitely be an asset to you in your later years, so it really doesn't matter what the scale says.

Have a great week!

Isn't funny how warmer weather helps to "remind" us to get ourselves in gear? Great job on the loss and good luck with this week and the weeks to come!
